Central Phuket
The Ultimate in Shopping for Every Fulfilling Experience
Phuket, an island paradise in southern Thailand, is not only a popular resort for international tourists, but a fun shopping and lifestyle paradise as well. Central Phuket has just unveiled its new look as a new landmark for every lavish lifestyle set in the heart of Phuket. The shopping centre is designed to meet all lifestyle and shopping needs. Central Phuket comprises 2 buildings – “Festival” and “Floresta” – that interconnect via a bridge with escalators. Located right at the Dara Samut Intersection, the shopping centre is highly accessible. Locals and tourists are already familiar with the Festival side. The newly opened Floresta side, under the concept of “Luxury Meets Nature”, is decorated with platns and other natural elements. Its magnificent design – a fushion of Thai literature, Thainess, colours and modern architecture – is synonymous with perfect and luxurious living. Floresta has an array of standout zones. The Enchanted Garden is a contemporary replica of the Daowadung level of heaven in Buddhism, the adobe of Indras (deities). The centerpiece of this zone is the woven rattan sculpture inspired by the chada headdress worn by traditional Thai dancers. Adorned with gustavia and other flowering plants, the garden zone hosts a multitude of world-class brand name boutiques. Cocoon has its own distinctive character with a vaulted ceiling that looks like a luxurious silk cocoon reflecting Phuket’s traditional way of life revolving around fishing and weaving. The cocoon motif blends seamlessly with elements of Phuket’s Sino-Portuguese architecture. Tales of Thailand is a contemporary replica of a vibrant floating market offering delicious provincial delicacies and processed food products. Celebrating the traditional ways of living of the 4 regions, the zone is lined with shops selling souvenirs and bric-a-brac including signature products from the provinces. The Great Epic zone astounds visitors with 2 colossal sculptures of a giant and deity from the Ramayana epic caught in a flight. The models make for a great photo op as the zone’s biggest wow factor. Rakang features a collection of big and small bell-themed sculptures adorning the ceiling and surrounded by a multitude of golden leaves of the bodhi tree. It feels sacred and elegant in the eyes of visitors. Spice of Tropical is home to a vast selection of premium restaurants in a beautiful setting of a tropical island decorated with a wide variety plants that enhance every dining experience. Tribhum, the first of its kind in the world, is a 3D adventure theme park inspired by legends and beliefs involving 2 mythical creatures, a garuda and a naga, in search of nectar that offers immortality. The park has 3 cities: the blue mountain, the underworld city and the massive forest of magic that comes alive with a kaleidoscopic technique. Aquaria is an aquarium in a new style that will be unveiled for the first time in Thailand soon. It’s home to over 25,000 animals. Central Phuket sets out to meet all shopping and lifestyle needs of both Thais and tourists from all around the world. Central Phuket Floresta is on Wichit Songkram Road, Tambon Wichit, Muang district, Phuket. It’s open daily from 10.30-22.00. Call 0 7629 1111 or visit www.centralphuket.com
